National insiders are starting to say what Browns fans already knew about Todd Monken

Dawg Pound Daily writer Dan Gilinsky highlights growing national recognition for Cleveland Browns head coach Todd Monken following a 5-2 start to the season. Analyst Jason La Canfora recently ranked Cleveland tenth in his Week 8 NFL Power Rankings, arguing that Monken is the clear NFL Coach of the Year frontrunner for guiding a young squad through multiple comeback victories.

Gilinsky agrees that Monken deserves Coach of the Year consideration, pointing to late-game composure from quarterback Deshaun Watson and key defensive plays by Carson Schwesinger and Denzel Ward. The Browns have already matched their entire 2025 win total ahead of a key Week 8 AFC North matchup against the 5-2 Pittsburgh Steelers.
