The wait will continue for Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders.

Cleveland Browns backup quarterback Shedeur Sanders is unlikely to replace starter Deshaun Watson anytime soon, according to Cleveland.com reporter Mary Kay Cabot. Speaking on 92.3 The Fan, Cabot stated that Watson is not on a short leash despite his struggles and a 17-12 loss to the New York Jets, meaning Sanders will remain on the bench heading into the Week 6 matchup against the Baltimore Ravens.
Cleveland's offense managed just 198 yards in the defeat to New York, during which Watson was sacked eight times. Head coach Todd Monken noted the team has yet to play a clean game this season. Sanders has attempted only one pass through five games, while fellow quarterback Dillon Gabriel remains on injured reserve after being ruled out for Week 6.
