The Dallas Cowboys made a major move for Joey Porter Jr. this week, and the team's immediate Week 4 plans for him are coming into focus.

Cornerback Joey Porter Jr. is set to make his Dallas Cowboys debut against the Houston Texans in Week 4, according to NFL insider Jordan Schultz. Dallas traded for Porter from the Pittsburgh Steelers to resolve significant secondary depth issues following injuries to Cobie Durant and Shavon Revel. Porter agreed to play for Dallas without a contract extension after missing the first three games of the season.
To acquire Porter, the Cowboys traded a permanent package consisting of a 2027 sixth-round pick and a 2028 second-round pick. Jonathan Jones of The Athletic reported that several NFL executives believed Dallas overpaid for the cornerback, though the Detroit Lions had also reportedly been bidding for Porter's services prior to the completed deal.
