Dallas Cowboys cornerback Joey Porter Jr.'s recent ankle injury is not related to his ongoing contract situation, according to WFAA's Ed Werder. Porter entered the Week 6 matchup against the Green Bay Packers listed as questionable after sustaining an ankle issue in practice, which followed an illness that kept him sidelined in Week 5 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Porter previously utilized a back injury during a contract dispute that led to his trade from the Pittsburgh Steelers. Although Porter is seeking a long-term extension before hitting free agency in March, reports indicate his current physical setbacks in Dallas are genuine and he hopes to play.
