The Dallas Cowboys suffered a 24-16 defeat at AT&T Stadium against the previously winless Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday night. Entering the contest as heavy 8.5-point favorites, Dallas fell to a 2-3 record on the season. Tampa Bay running back Bucky Irving led the Buccaneers' offense with a career-high 165 rushing yards and two total touchdowns, including a receiving score from undrafted rookie quarterback Jalon Daniels.
Compounding the loss, Cowboys star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb suffered a fourth-quarter quad injury and was visibly hobbling before exiting the contest. Dallas also played without cornerback Joey Porter Jr., who was ruled out prior to kickoff due to an illness. The Cowboys defense extended its franchise-record streak to eight consecutive games without an interception.
