Former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Andy Dalton has signed with the Atlanta Falcons, ending a short and uneven stint with the Philadelphia Eagles while adding another chapter to a lengthy NFL career that briefly intersected with America’s Team.
Former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Andy Dalton has signed with the Atlanta Falcons after being released by the Philadelphia Eagles on October 9. Atlanta created a roster spot for the 38-year-old veteran by releasing fellow former Cowboys quarterback Cooper Rush.
Dalton, who previously started nine games for Dallas in 2020 after Dak Prescott suffered an ankle injury, declined an offer to return to Philadelphia following Jalen Hurts' medical issues. Dalton now provides veteran insurance in Atlanta behind quarterbacks Michael Penix Jr. and Tua Tagovailoa.
