The Denver Broncos received terrible news regarding one of their legends. The AFC West team lost Ring of Fame quarterback Craig Morton back in May, months before another tragedy struck.
Former Denver Broncos general manager John Beake has passed away at the age of 87, the team announced on Saturday. Beake served as an executive with the franchise for more than two decades, playing a crucial leadership role during one of the most successful eras in team history.
During his tenure with the Broncos from 1979 to 2000, which included serving as general manager from 1985 to 2000, Beake helped guide the franchise to five Super Bowl appearances and back-to-back championships. After his time in Denver, he also worked with NFL Europe and served on the Broncos Ring of Fame Committee.
