The Story in 60 Seconds

Former NFL star Marcellus Wiley has been accused of "viciously" raping a 22-year-old USC student in 1999, according to a lawsuit filed in Los Angeles County on Tuesday. The plaintiff, identified as Jane Doe, alleges the assault occurred at a hotel near Los Angeles International Airport while Wiley played for the Buffalo Bills. She is suing for sexual battery, assault, battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

According to the complaint, Doe underwent an examination that confirmed trauma and reported the incident to police, but prosecutors declined to file charges at the time after Wiley denied the claims.
