The New York Giants were defeated 34-27 by the New Orleans Saints in their Week 6 matchup. Starting quarterback Jameis Winston struggled, completing 14 of 26 passes for 152 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions before being benched in the fourth quarter. Relief quarterback JJ McCarthy subsequently completed 11 of 21 attempts for 243 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in late-game action.
David Syvertsen writes that McCarthy's decisive performance warrants starting consideration over Winston. Syvertsen also highlights New York's ground game struggles, noting that the running back rotation produced just 34 rushing yards on 14 carries, while wide receiver Malik Nabers led the team's receiving efforts with 165 yards on the day.
