The Giants’ ever-changing quarterback situation is testing offensive coordinator Matt Nagy’s math skills.

New York Giants offensive coordinator Matt Nagy announced the team will have 100 percent of its playbook available for quarterback J.J. McCarthy’s first start on Sunday against the Houston Texans. McCarthy replaces Jameis Winston in the starting lineup after leading three scoring drives and throwing for 243 passing yards in the fourth quarter of a 34-27 loss to the New Orleans Saints.
Nagy noted that McCarthy restores elements of the dual-threat playbook that were reduced after starter Jaxson Dart suffered an injury in Week 2. Targets Malik Nabers and Isaiah Likely expressed confidence in adjusting to McCarthy, whom the Giants acquired via a September 28 trade from the Minnesota Vikings.
