The Green Bay Packers have introduced a rotating locker room sledgehammer as an award for special teams players. Linebacker Barryn Sorrell explained that the hammer is passed around from week to week to celebrate a player who delivers a significant hit on special teams.
Sorrell earned the sledgehammer following a major hit during Green Bay's victory over the Chicago Bears. Each recipient has his jersey number engraved into the tool's handle, which Sorrell noted fosters a competitive atmosphere within the locker room.
