Houston Mayor John Whitmire presented a proclamation declaring Oct. 29, 2026, as Tank Dell Day across the city during a City Council meeting. The honor recognizes the Houston Texans wide receiver as he returns to the field following a lengthy recovery from serious injuries that sidelined him for nearly two years.
Dell thanked the mayor, council members, coaches, friends, and family, noting that Houston has become a second home. Council members celebrated his recent 43-yard reception and noted that the citywide honor coincides with Dell's birthday.
