The Pittsburgh Steelers had a very clear advantage against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. Mike McCarthy's unit was coming off of a mini-bye week following a Thursday Night Football contest.
The Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the Indianapolis Colts 34-22 on Sunday, advancing to a 3-2 record for the 2026 season. Indianapolis struggled in the red zone against Pittsburgh's defense, managing only one touchdown on a Tyler Warren one-yard rush alongside five field goals from Spencer Shrader. Former Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger criticized Colts head coach Shane Steichen's conservative play-calling on his podcast, questioning the team's decision to repeatedly settle for field goals instead of taking chances.
Yardbarker notes that Steichen's decision-making has drawn mounting criticism and suggests his job security could be in jeopardy without a playoff berth. Meanwhile, Mike McCarthy's Steelers capitalized on extra rest following a Thursday night game to secure the victory.
