Mike Tomlin Could Be the Answer for the Indianapolis Colts

Writer Michael Roberts argues that the Indianapolis Colts should pursue former Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin if they decide to replace current head coach Shane Steichen. Tomlin stepped down from the Steelers in January and is working as an NBC Sports analyst, but he could potentially return to NFL coaching next season. Following the dismissal of long-time general manager Chris Ballard and a 2-4 start under Steichen, the franchise faces significant leadership questions.

Roberts contends that Tomlin's disciplined style and track record of building top-tier defenses would provide much-needed stability for Indianapolis. During his 19-year tenure in Pittsburgh, Tomlin claimed seven AFC North division titles and won a Super Bowl. Roberts believes Tomlin could quickly return the Colts to the playoffs, an achievement the franchise has not reached since the 2020 campaign.
