Indianapolis Colts cornerback Sauce Gardner reflected on the one-year anniversary of his blockbuster trade from the New York Jets on Nov. 4, 2025. Indianapolis acquired the All-Pro defender for two first-round draft picks and wide receiver AD Mitchell. However, following the trade, the Colts have struggled to a 3-13 record over the past year, leading to a franchise reboot that included the firing of general manager Chris Ballard.
Gardner has started 11 games for Indianapolis while battling two calf injuries, and the team currently sits at 2-6 entering their matchup against Dallas. Meanwhile, trade deadline speculation has intensified around Colts running back Jonathan Taylor and wide receiver Josh Downs, the latter having recently requested a move. Owner Carlie Irsay-Gordon has already traded away veterans Quenton Nelson and DeForest Buckner as part of the roster overhaul.
