Kansas City Chiefs safety Chamarri Conner returned to practice on Wednesday as a full participant for the first time in the 2026 season. Conner had been sidelined since training camp after suffering a knee injury during a collision with wide receiver Tyquan Thornton. Despite missing Conner and left tackle Josh Simmons, head coach Andy Reid's squad has started the season undefeated through two games.
Conner's return provides vital depth to the secondary under defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo. In his absence, safeties Alohi Gilman and Jaden Hicks played 100 percent of defensive snaps across Kansas City's victories over the Denver Broncos and an overtime win against the Indianapolis Colts.
