It wasn’t lost on Chiefs’ defense that they didn’t play well in Week 2

Kansas City Chiefs defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo acknowledged that his unit underperformed during their Week 2 overtime victory against the Indianapolis Colts. Despite Kansas City improving to 2-0, Spagnuolo noted during a Thursday press conference that the defense surrendered 30 points, 329 total yards, and 24 first downs in the contest.

Spagnuolo commended linebackers Nick Bolton and Drue Tranquill for helping secure a critical red-zone stop in overtime. However, he expressed disappointment over defensive lapses, end-of-half play-calling, and allowing the Colts multiple third- and fourth-down conversions.
