The Kansas City Chiefs continue evaluating options to bolster their wide receiver group amid injuries and ongoing uncertainty surrounding a potential return of Tyreek Hill.
The Kansas City Chiefs are addressing depth concerns at wide receiver by targeting free agent Justin Watson for a team visit. With wideouts Rashee Rice and Tyquan Thornton sidelined by injuries, the Chiefs are pursuing the 30-year-old veteran as an immediate, lower-risk addition. Watson previously spent three seasons in Kansas City under head coach Andy Reid and quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
While a potential reunion with Tyreek Hill has been discussed, complications including Hill's recovery from a knee injury and an NFL personal conduct policy review make that move uncertain. Watson, who won two Super Bowls with the Chiefs, is expected to visit the facility on Monday and could join via the practice squad or the active roster.
