Kansas state leaders have officially announced the boundaries for the Kansas City Chiefs STAR Bonds District. Kansas Lieutenant Governor and Secretary of Commerce David Toland published the outlined areas where the state will collect sales tax revenues to help fund the construction of a new domed stadium and team headquarters.
The proposed district is expected to span multiple Kansas cities, including Kansas City, Bonner Springs, Edwardsville, Shawnee, Lenexa, and Olathe. State officials project the development will generate over 4,000 jobs and $1 billion annually, with the Chiefs anticipated to begin playing in the state-owned stadium in 2031.
