There were a lot of Chiefs fans who questioned Kansas City's decision to use such a high draft pick on a cornerback, but through four games, Mansoor Delane has been fantastic.

Arrowhead Addict's Lyle Graversen writes that Kansas City Chiefs rookie cornerback Mansoor Delane is proving doubters wrong after four games. Kansas City traded up from the No. 9 pick to No. 6 overall in the 2026 NFL Draft to select Delane, surrendering third- and fifth-round picks in the deal, which initially sparked widespread criticism from fans who opposed drafting a cornerback so high.
Graversen notes that Delane has excelled, helping Kansas City to a 4-0 start. According to Pro Football Focus metrics cited in the piece, Delane ranks as the fifth highest-graded cornerback overall, allowing nine completions on 99 coverage snaps alongside an interception, multiple pass breakups, and an opposing passer rating of 46.5.
