The State of Kansas and Wyandotte County have come to a settlement in the case of the new Kansas City Chiefs Stadium, allowing the county to move forward with the historic deal.

The state of Kansas and Wyandotte County have settled a lawsuit regarding the new Kansas City Chiefs stadium project. Kansas Governor Laura Kelly and Wyandotte County Mayor Christal Watson announced the resolution, clearing the way for the county to advance the historic development deal after previous disputes over local oversight.
The Unified Government had filed the 74-page lawsuit seeking more control over planning and addressing tax concerns with the Kansas Sports Facility Authority. Under the new agreement, key matters including land use and utility services were resolved, designating BPU, Evergy, and the UG to provide electrical, water, wastewater, and stormwater services.
