Is Ashton Jeanty hurt or is he just not an elite running back? The…

NFL analyst Greg Cosell criticized Las Vegas Raiders running back Ashton Jeanty, claiming he never viewed the former first-round pick as an elite prospect. However, Raiders Beat writer Warren Mitchell notes that Cosell previously praised Jeanty as a really good prospect in March 2025, rating him alongside Omarion Hampton as the draft class's top two backs.
Jeanty has struggled during the first five weeks of the season while playing through sore foot and ankle issues. Head coach Klint Kubiak and former offensive lineman Richie Incognito have both weighed in on the offense's ground game, with Incognito also voicing concerns regarding Jeanty's vision and lack of explosiveness behind the line of scrimmage.
