When CBS Sports play-by-play man Jim Nantz called out Kansas City had generated just 18 total yards of offense with 30 seconds left in the third quarter, it was fortuitous foreshadowing for the Chiefs. What ensued was an explosive play…

The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Las Vegas Raiders 30-27 on Sunday, handing rookie head coach Klint Kubiak his first loss of the season. Kansas City capitalized on explosive plays and a key special teams turnover when Las Vegas kick returner Dareke Young fumbled. Chiefs running back Kenneth Walker III led the charge by rushing for 177 yards and two touchdowns, including a pivotal 76-yard run.
Raiders quarterback Kirk Cousins threw a late 20-yard touchdown pass to Brock Bowers to cut the deficit to three points, but a late interception sealed the victory for Kansas City. Kubiak also faced scrutiny for taking a made field goal off the board to unsuccessfully attempt a fourth-down conversion in the third quarter. The victory kept Kansas City undefeated at 4-0, while Las Vegas fell to 3-1.
