It’s easy to look at the New York Jets, see the 2-5 overall record, and be dismissive. Gang Green is on a two-game schneid losing back-to-back tilts against AFC East division foes — one of the defeats a 28-25 one…
Ray Aspuria previews the Week 8 matchup between the Las Vegas Raiders and New York Jets, highlighting the threat posed by the Jets' top-tier defense. Despite entering the game at 2-5, New York features the league's fifth-ranked pass defense and ranks ninth in yards allowed under head coach Aaron Glenn. Meanwhile, Las Vegas head coach Klint Kubiak stressed that the 3-4 Raiders cannot underestimate their opponents, having dropped four straight games.
The matchup sets up a strength-versus-strength contest between New York's secondary and Las Vegas quarterback Kirk Cousins, who ranks third in the NFL with 1,877 passing yards and leads the league with 16 touchdown passes. However, with the Raiders' ground game ranking 30th and the defense surrendering 2,616 yards, Aspuria argues the Jets' aggressive defense could disrupt Las Vegas if the visitors remain one-dimensional.
