The Chargers tight end is currently on Injured Reserve after suffering a knee injury in Week 2…

Los Angeles Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh announced that the team will likely open tight end David Njoku's 21-day practice window ahead of Week 9. Njoku has been sidelined on injured reserve since suffering a knee injury in Week 2 against the Raiders. Harbaugh noted that his return will provide a boost to the team following a 24-9 loss to the Rams that dropped the Chargers to 0-7.
Harbaugh also provided updates on other injured players, stating offensive lineman Kayode Awosika and cornerbacks Donte Jackson and Rodney Shelley will increase their practice participation. However, Brenen Thompson is unlikely to practice due to a quadricep and hamstring injury, while Deane Leonard remains in concussion protocol. Additionally, Harbaugh stated he remains focused on the Texans matchup rather than the November 10 trade deadline.
