Rams safety Quentin Lake texted Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert to apologize after saying on a podcast that Herbert was 'throwing deli meat' and 'seeing ghosts' during Sunday’s game.

Los Angeles Rams safety Quentin Lake reached out via text to apologize to Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert following recent podcast comments. During an appearance on the "St. Brown Podcast," Lake stated that Herbert was "throwing deli meat" and "seeing ghosts" during the Rams' 24-9 win over the Chargers. Lake explained he was trying to be funny in a relaxed environment among friends and meant no disrespect.
Lake noted that he had not received a response from Herbert as of Friday afternoon. Both Lake and teammate Trent McDuffie intercepted Herbert during the matchup. Despite Herbert's struggles during the Chargers' 0-7 start to the season, Lake maintained that he still views Herbert as a great quarterback with immense talent.
