Herbert is currently in the third season of a five-year, $262.5 million contract and has averaged a career-low 200.5 passing yards per game through the first two weeks under head coach Jim Harbaugh and offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel. The Chargers face the 2-0 Buffalo Bills next as part of a difficult upcoming schedule.
