Rams fans have a clear rooting interest in Week 5’s 49ers-Seahawks showdown

Bret Stuter of Ramblin' Fan argues that Los Angeles Rams supporters should root against the Seattle Seahawks in their Week 5 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers. Entering the week, the Rams sit at 2-2 in the NFC West behind the 4-0 49ers and 3-1 Seahawks. Stuter contends that a Seattle loss provides a clearer benefit to Los Angeles by strengthening their bid for second place and a wild-card playoff spot.

While noting that Rams fans naturally despise the division-leading 49ers, Stuter explains that overtaking San Francisco for the division title remains a steep climb due to a previous head-to-head loss. Consequently, pulling closer to the defending Super Bowl champion Seahawks in the standings offers the most realistic playoff route for Los Angeles.
