"If we have the ability to have him as one of our 48" active players on gameday, Rams head coach Sean McVay said Friday, "that's a luxury."

The Los Angeles Rams signed kicker Joshua Karty to the 53-man active roster, though head coach Sean McVay indicated it remains undetermined if he will dress for Sunday's game against the Washington Commanders. The move provides roster flexibility for a potential two-kicker setup alongside primary placekicker Brandon McManus.
Karty served as a kickoff specialist in Week 8 against the Los Angeles Chargers to address recent kickoff coverage struggles. While signing Karty to the active roster grants unlimited flexibility, McVay noted gameday roster limits and other injury activations will dictate whether Karty is active.
