The Miami Dolphins waived running back Carlos Washington Jr. on Monday, closing a brief stay on the active roster that never produced a snap in a regular-season game, the team announced.
The Miami Dolphins waived running back Carlos Washington Jr. on Monday ahead of Week 5, ending his brief stint on the active roster. The 27-year-old was promoted from the practice squad ahead of Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings to provide depth, but he did not log a snap during the contest.
Washington's departure leaves Jaylen Wright and Ollie Gordon II as the remaining running backs on Miami's 53-man roster. The backfield remains depleted following starter De'Von Achane's season-ending ACL injury, though the Dolphins could re-sign Washington to the practice squad if he clears waivers.
