The Miami Dolphins are going through a difficult stretch on the field, but their value as an NFL franchise continues to climb. Despite starting the season 0-5, the team is reportedly set to welcome a new billionaire minority owner as…

Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross has agreed to sell a 2.1% minority stake in the franchise and its affiliated assets to Chilean billionaire financier Jean Eric Salata. The deal sets an NFL record valuation for a minority stake, edging above the previous $12.5 billion valuation mark set when Xiaomi co-founder Lin Bin bought a 1% share in March 2026.
The valuation includes Hard Rock Stadium, the Miami Formula 1 race, and the Miami Open tennis tournament. Ross, who originally purchased the team for approximately $1 billion in 2009, previously declined offers approaching $15 billion to retain family control. NFL team owners are expected to formally approve the sale at their upcoming fall meeting in New York.
