The Minnesota Vikings and their fans are well aware of the novelty surrounding J.J. McCarthy, and so far, he is impressing the New York Giants in a similar way.

New York Giants coaches have praised quarterback J.J. McCarthy for his maturity and composure, contrasting with reported concerns during his tenure with the Minnesota Vikings. After being acquired via trade and stepping in following an injury to Jaxson Dart, McCarthy delivered a strong showing in a Week 7 overtime win against the Houston Texans.
According to reporting from SNY's Connor Hughes highlighted by The Viking Age's Brad Berreman, Giants coaches specifically noted McCarthy's calm demeanor. Berreman writes that while Minnesota grew unwilling to wait for McCarthy's overall development amid consistency and durability issues, New York is providing him an immediate opportunity to establish himself.
