New England’s defensive depth will be heavily tested in its first divisional game of the season.

The New England Patriots have ruled out cornerback Christian Gonzalez and defensive tackle Christian Barmore for their Week 4 divisional matchup against the Buffalo Bills due to shoulder injuries. Neither player participated in practice during the week. Head coach Mike Vrabel addressed the situation on Friday, acknowledging the challenge of missing two key defensive starters against an undefeated division rival.
Quarterback Drake Maye was listed on the injury report with a shoulder injury sustained against Jacksonville, but he participated fully in practice and carries no game designation. Seven other Patriots are questionable, including defenders Channing Canada, Christian Elliss, Dre'Mont Jones, and Craig Woodson. Additionally, Vrabel anticipates Ben Brown will start at right guard following injuries to Mike Onwenu and Greg Van Roten.
