The Story in 60 Seconds

The New England Patriots could reportedly make defensive tackle Christian Barmore available for a trade ahead of the November 10 deadline. Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer notes that Barmore "could be had" as his playing time has decreased this season. Cory Durden has taken over as the primary starter alongside Milton Williams, with head coach Mike Vrabel explaining that Barmore's reduced early-down work is aimed at maximizing his pass-rushing opportunities.

Barmore previously signed a four-year, $84 million extension during the 2024 offseason under executive Eliot Wolf and carries a $12 million base salary this season. Although the Patriots currently hold a 4-2 record in the AFC East, the franchise previously dealt away other extended veterans, making an in-season trade a possibility before the deadline.
