Key Things to Know

NFL analyst Phil Simms named the 3-2 New England Patriots the best team in the NFL.
Simms cited quarterback Drake Maye's recent turnaround and an elite defense as key reasons for his claim.
Kaley Brown of Boston.com views Simms' assessment as a stretch compared to other national power rankings.

The Story in 60 Seconds

Former quarterback and two-time Super Bowl champion Phil Simms declared the 3-2 New England Patriots to be the best team in the NFL during an appearance on "Up and Adams." Simms highlighted the team's strong defense and credited quarterback Drake Maye's rapid development following a 374-yard, four-touchdown performance in Week 5.
