'We want to make sure that this is a celebration of the rebirth'

ESPN is preparing extensive Monday Night Football coverage celebrating the 20-year anniversary of the Caesars Superdome re-opening after Hurricane Katrina. The broadcast coincides with a matchup between the New Orleans Saints and Atlanta Falcons. Executive producer Steve Ackels stated the network aims to highlight the city's rebirth and educate audiences on the historical significance of the landmark 2006 re-opening.
The multimedia presentation includes an opening narrated by Anthony Mackie, a tribute voiced by Robin Roberts, and a national anthem performance by Irma Thomas. Former Saints icons Drew Brees and Steve Gleason will take part in festivities, while Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue will headline the halftime show alongside multiple special musical guests.
