The New Orleans Saints began their preparation for Week 6 against the New York Giants with several key players sidelined by illness. Starting wide receiver Chris Olave and defensive tackle Nathan Shepard did not participate in Wednesday's practice due to sickness. Defensive tackle Vernon Broughton was limited by the same issue, while linebacker Kaden Elliss and edge rusher Anfernee Jennings also missed practice with calf and knee injuries, respectively.
The New York Giants also faced extensive absences during Wednesday's session ahead of Sunday's game. Starters Abdul Carter, Jermaine Eluemunor, Colton Hood, Tyler Nubin, and Andrew Thomas all missed practice. Giants coach John Harbaugh noted that Carter is doing well, while Eluemunor, Hood, and Nubin are considered day-to-day.
