The New Orleans Saints were already in a complicated spot with their RB depth chart, but it may have gotten more confusing on Friday. Ahead of the Saints’ Sunday Week 9 game against the Cleveland Browns, New Orleans ruled out…

The New Orleans Saints have ruled out running back CJ Donaldson due to an injury ahead of their Week 9 matchup against the Cleveland Browns. Donaldson's absence further complicates the team's backfield depth alongside Travis Etienne's hamstring injury, creating uncertainty ahead of the November 10 NFL trade deadline as Alvin Kamara and Kendre Miller remain subjects of trade speculation.
To address backfield depth, head coach Kellen Moore and the Saints brought back running back Audric Estime following his release from the Browns. Writer Billy Heyen argues that if the 2-5 Saints continue to struggle, Donaldson's injury should not derail existing plans to potentially trade Kamara or Miller before the deadline.
