The New York Giants have placed wide receiver and return specialist Braxton Berrios on Injured Reserve following a foot and ankle injury suffered against the Arizona Cardinals. Berrios revealed on Instagram that he will require season-ending surgery. Meanwhile, head coach John Harbaugh indicated that defensive lineman Chauncey Golston could face a long-term absence due to a neck injury and is currently seeking second opinions.
Prior to his injury, the Giants restructured Golston's contract to convert salary into a bonus. In other roster moves, New York signed quarterback Jake Haener to the 53-man roster and added wide receiver Dontae Fleming to the practice squad, while cornerback Deonte Banks was named NFC Defensive Player of the Week.
