The New York Giants can trade for a popular name after an update about their interest in All-Pro defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons.

The New York Giants could target Seattle Seahawks defensive tackle Jarran Reed before the trade deadline after missing out on Jeffery Simmons, according to James Dudko. Head coach John Harbaugh was unable to finalize a trade with the Tennessee Titans for Simmons, who was instead dealt to the Chicago Bears for consecutive first-round picks. Reporting from The Athletic indicates Seattle may consider moving Reed for a Day 3 draft pick.
Dudko argues that acquiring the 33-year-old veteran would offer the Giants an affordable solution to reinforce their defensive interior against the run. Reed would join a defensive line that previously added nose tackle D.J. Reader following the departure of Dexter Lawrence II to the Cincinnati Bengals.
