The New York Giants are watching Daniel Jones struggle with the Indianapolis Colts, yet their head coach, Shane Steichen, is hitching his wagon to the quarterback.

GMEN HQ writer Scott Rogust argues that the Indianapolis Colts made a major mistake by committing a two-year, $88 million contract to former New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones. The Colts fell to 2-4 after a 16-10 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, where Jones threw for 108 yards. Rogust claims Giants supporters are witnessing Jones struggle through another post-contract decline while Indianapolis head coach Shane Steichen continues to back him.
Through seven games following his recovery from a torn Achilles, Jones has recorded 1,398 passing yards, four touchdowns, and seven interceptions with a 59.6 percent completion rate. Despite having young quarterbacks Anthony Richardson and Riley Leonard on the roster, Steichen confirmed he remains confident in Jones. Rogust concludes that hitching coaching job security to Jones previously failed multiple Giants head coaches, warning that Steichen faces a similar outcome.
