The New York Giants are being called upon to "immediately" make change at starting quarterback.

Calls are growing for the New York Giants to name J.J. McCarthy their starting quarterback following his performance against the New Orleans Saints. Giants head coach John Harbaugh benched starter Jameis Winston in the fourth quarter while trailing 34-10, allowing McCarthy to throw for 243 yards, one touchdown, and one interception during a 34-27 Week 6 defeat.
ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith argued that McCarthy should immediately start in Week 7 against the Houston Texans. Both Winston and McCarthy took over quarterback duties following a season-ending injury to 2025 first-round pick Jaxson Dart in Week 2.
