The New York Giants are eyeing Vita Vea to help D.J. Reader, which makes you wonder why Dexter Lawrence never got the same treatment.

According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, the New York Giants have shown trade interest in Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive tackle Vita Vea ahead of the Nov. 10 trade deadline. The Buccaneers reportedly are not expected to move Vea as they remain in contention in the NFC South. The report notes the Giants previously missed out on acquiring Jeffery Simmons.
Writer Matt Sidney argues that pursuing Vea highlights how the Giants failed to adequately support former defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence before trading him to Cincinnati. Sidney notes that current tackle D.J. Reader has performed exceptionally well this season, but needs interior help on the defensive front.
