Dart suffered the injury during the Giants' Monday night loss against the Rams, elevating backup Jameis Winston. Following the injury update, The Athletic's NFL Playoff Simulator dropped the team's postseason odds to 10 percent.
According to the simulator's projection model developed by Austin Mock, the Giants' playoff chances fell from 30 percent before the loss to 25 percent postgame, before plummeting further after Dart's diagnosis. The model projects the Giants will most likely finish the regular season at 7-10 or 6-11, leaving them favored in only one game following their Week 8 bye.
