Giants coordinator Matt Nagy described Jameis Winston helping J.J. McCarthy prepare soon after New York changed quarterbacks.

After losing his starting role with the New York Giants, quarterback Jameis Winston spent time helping his replacement, J.J. McCarthy. Offensive coordinator Matt Nagy revealed to Peter Schrager that he found Winston and McCarthy reviewing third-down situations together shortly after the benching decision was made.
McCarthy joined New York via a September trade and led the Giants to a 27-21 overtime victory against Houston on October 25. Winston, who started four games while Jaxson Dart recovered from a knee injury, continues to serve as an experienced backup while assisting McCarthy with offensive protections and scheme details.
