Trace Ford's performance should make the New York Giants a little more willing to trade Kayvon Thibodeaux.

Writer Michael Haney argues that the New York Giants should consider trading edge rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux before the deadline, pointing to backup Trace Ford's emergence as justification. Thibodeaux is playing on his fifth-year option, and Haney contends that moving him for a mid-round draft pick would prevent the Giants from losing him for nothing.
According to Haney, Ford demonstrated enough disruption against the New Orleans Saints with two run stuffs in 21 snaps to serve as a capable short-term replacement. While trading Thibodeaux would leave the edge unit thin alongside Abdul Carter during Brian Burns' absence, Haney believes it would allow New York to properly evaluate Ford.
