Ten snaps? It was perhaps the most puzzling storyline from the New York Jets’ Week 1 win. One week later, it’s even more puzzling—except, after what we saw in Week 2, it probably won’t be an issue again.
New York Jets defensive tackle Jowon Briggs earned an expanded role during the team's Week 2 matchup against the Green Bay Packers. After playing just 10 defensive snaps in Week 1, Briggs logged 35 snaps in Week 2, recording three run tackles, a strip-sack on Jordan Love, and an additional pressure.
Briggs took on greater playing time following an in-game injury to starter David Onyemata, who has since been placed on injured reserve with a groin issue. With Onyemata scheduled to miss at least four games, Briggs is expected to remain a primary contributor on the interior defensive line.
