After picking up a huge win over the Buffalo Bills in Week 4, the New England Patriots are looking into potentially reinforcing their running back depth.

The New England Patriots brought veteran running back Jamaal Williams in for a workout ahead of Week 5, according to a report from Ari Meirov. Williams, who spent the 2025 season out of football, is seeking an NFL comeback as New England looks to bolster its backfield.
New England's primary rushers, Rhamondre Stevenson and TreVeyon Henderson, have both struggled with an average of 3.7 yards per carry. Owen Crisafulli notes that Williams could potentially offer pass protection and situational depth behind quarterback Drake Maye if signed from free agency.
