The Philadelphia Eagles placed quarterback Jalen Hurts on injured reserve due to a superficial blood clot in his left calf. The condition will sideline the three-time Pro Bowler indefinitely, forcing him to miss at least four games starting with Sunday's contest against the Carolina Panthers. The decision came following consultations with multiple medical specialists.
Doctors discovered the clot during an ultrasound following an October 4 calf injury, with subsequent scans revealing the clot had moved. Tanner McKee will start at quarterback for Philadelphia, with rookie Cole Payton serving as backup, while the team also signed quarterback Joe Milton off the Dallas Cowboys' practice squad.
