The New York Giants have reportedly acquired quarterback J.J. McCarthy in a trade with the Minnesota Vikings. The move follows a season-ending injury to Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart, prompting New York to send a projected 2027 fifth-round draft pick to Minnesota to complete the deal.
McCarthy, selected tenth overall in the 2024 NFL Draft, missed his rookie season with an injury and fell to Minnesota's third-string quarterback behind Kyler Murray and Carson Wentz. McCarthy remains under contract through the 2027 season and joins a Giants quarterback room alongside Jameis Winston and Jake Haener.
